These Terms & Conditions govern taxi and passenger-transport services offered through Taxi Merchtem / Hallo Taxi.

Scope and acceptance
These Terms apply to bookings made through taxi-merchtem.be, the online booking forms, payment or confirmation links sent by Hallo Taxi, and other bookings that expressly refer to these Terms.
By submitting a booking request, the customer confirms that the information supplied is accurate and that the applicable Terms have been read and accepted.
Booking and confirmation
A booking request is not automatically a final confirmation of transport. Hallo Taxi first checks the journey details and the availability of a suitable vehicle.
An acknowledgement only means that the request has been received. The journey is finally confirmed when Hallo Taxi expressly confirms it and, where advance payment is required, the required payment has been successfully received.
The customer must check the pickup point, destination, date, time, passenger count, contact details, flight information and any special requests and report errors as soon as possible.
Prices and additional charges
The displayed or communicated price applies to the journey and conditions described at the time of quotation or booking. Prices are stated in euros and include applicable taxes unless expressly stated otherwise.
If the customer later changes material journey details, the price may be recalculated before the change is accepted. Any additional charge for waiting, extra stops, parking, tolls or special requirements applies only where shown, communicated or caused by a customer-requested change.
Payment
Available payment methods may include cash, payment card and Bancontact, depending on the booking.
Where online payment is required, Hallo Taxi may send a secure payment link after availability has been checked. A payment link may have a limited validity period. If it expires before payment, the customer may request a new link, subject to continued availability of the journey.
If payment is required for final confirmation and is not received within the communicated period, the booking may be treated as unconfirmed.
Changes
A change to a confirmed booking should be requested from Hallo Taxi as soon as possible, preferably with the booking reference. A change takes effect only after Hallo Taxi confirms it.
Changes are subject to availability and may result in a different price.
Cancellation, non-payment and no-show
The customer may request cancellation using the contact details shown on the website or in the confirmation. Any cancellation charge or refund is determined by the conditions communicated for the specific booking and by mandatory consumer law.
Hallo Taxi may cancel or refuse a booking where, for example, required payment is not received, the customer cancels, material information is incorrect or incomplete, the customer cannot be contacted when necessary, the passenger does not appear within the applicable waiting period, the journey creates a safety or legal risk, or exceptional circumstances make performance impossible or unsafe.
No general 14-day withdrawal right
This does not prevent cancellation under the cancellation rules that apply to the booking. It means that an online taxi booking does not automatically benefit from a free fourteen-day cooling-off period merely because it was booked online.
Pickup, waiting, flights and delays
The customer must be ready at the agreed pickup place and time and provide a reachable telephone number. For airport pickups, correct flight information must be provided when requested.
Traffic, road closures, weather, airport operations, police or public-authority measures and other circumstances outside reasonable control may affect timing. Estimated journey times are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
Passengers, luggage, children and safety
The customer must provide accurate passenger numbers and special requirements. Luggage must be capable of safe transport in the booked vehicle.
A child seat or other special equipment must be requested in sufficient time and confirmed by Hallo Taxi.
Passengers must follow reasonable safety instructions from the driver. Transport may be refused or ended where behaviour creates a serious safety risk, is unlawful, threatens people or risks significant damage to the vehicle.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where such exclusion or restriction is prohibited by Belgian or other applicable mandatory law.
Subject to mandatory law, Hallo Taxi is not responsible for loss caused solely by inaccurate information supplied by the customer, failure to be present or reachable as agreed, or circumstances outside Hallo Taxi’s reasonable control.
Force majeure and exceptional circumstances
Hallo Taxi is not responsible for non-performance or material delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, major traffic incidents, road closures, public-authority measures, emergencies or comparable events. Where reasonably possible, the customer will be informed and an appropriate solution will be sought.
Complaints and consumer disputes
Questions or complaints should first be sent to info@hallo-taxi.be or by telephone on +32 475 504 689. Where possible, include the booking reference and enough information to investigate the matter.
If a Belgian consumer dispute cannot be resolved directly, the customer may seek information about available out-of-court dispute-resolution mechanisms, including the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service, subject to its competence and admissibility rules.
Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules applicable to the customer.
If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. An updated version may apply to future bookings; for an existing booking, the version applicable when it was concluded normally remains relevant, subject to mandatory law.
